More about this glove

The Bad Billy Tan is Legendary USA’s goatskin short wrist glove in Saddle Tan — a different leather and a different animal from the rest of the Legendary lineup. Where deerskin is selected for softness and weight, goatskin is selected for cut resistance and durability. Goatskin’s tighter fiber structure makes it stubbornly tough against abrasion and lateral cuts — the right choice for riders who prioritize protective performance in a warm-weather profile.

The Saddle Tan colorway pairs naturally with Indian Motorcycle tan seats and saddlebags and develops its own character with wear and sun exposure. Lighter than cowhide at equivalent protection. American & Efird (A&E) industrial-grade thread throughout. Elasticized wrist cuff. Short wrist profile. Works as a riding glove, driving glove, shooting glove, or tactical application. Hand-cut and stitched in the USA. Featured in The Wall Street Journal Fashion Magazine.

Tan goatskin that matches my saddlebags

Matches the tan seat on my Indian, and the goatskin is a lot lighter on the hand than my old cowhide pair. The elastic cuff keeps the short wrist snug.

Saddle tan for the ride and the range

Bought these as a first goatskin glove after reading that the tight fiber structure resists cuts and abrasion. I checked the size chart against my hand and the large fit right out of the box. The elastic cuff keeps the short wrist snug without squeezing. I wear them on the bike and at the range, and the leather is lighter than the cowhide I was using before. Seeing that the stitching is American & Efird thread and the pair is cut and sewn in the USA sealed it for me. The saddle tan already has a bit more character after a couple of weeks of sun.

Saddle tan looks better every month

My wife got me these for my birthday because the saddle tan matches the seat and saddlebags on my Indian. I figured they'd be a looks-only glove, but the goatskin is lighter than cowhide and I can still feel the throttle and brake lever without any fighting the leather. They're unlined, so on hot afternoons my hands don't get swampy like they did in my old gloves. The elastic cuff on the short wrist makes them quick to pull on at a gas stop. A few months in, the tan has darkened a little from sun and sweat, which I actually like, and the stitching hasn't loosened anywhere. I'm using them for riding and for yard work now too, and they're made here in the States, which was a nice bonus.

A Great Gift for My Dad

My dad is 68 and has been riding since the 70s. He was using some old worn out gloves so I ordered him the tan Bad Billy goatskin as a birthday gift. He called me two days later to tell me they were the best fitting gloves he'd owned. That's a compliment coming from someone who's seen everything. Solid American-made gloves.

Short wrist at a price that makes sense

Not every glove needs to be $150. The tan Bad Billy gives you real leather, real USA construction, and the right short wrist cut at a price that makes sense. I bought two pairs so I always have a fresh one.

Good value for USA-made goatskin

At under $100 for made-in-USA goatskin gloves these are genuinely competitive with stuff that costs a lot more. The tan color is classic and the construction is solid. Goatskin grain has that natural texture that looks right on a classic motorcycle.

Bought tan to match my saddle leather

I run vintage brown leather saddlebags and the tan Bad Billy goatskin picks up that same warm tone. It's a small detail but those coordinated looks matter to me. The gloves themselves are quality — goatskin is tough, the stitching is clean, short wrist fits under anything.

Great Gloves, Perfect Size, Feel

Cruiser rider approved — and I'm picky

I've owned probably thirty pairs of motorcycle gloves over 40 years of riding. The tan Bad Billy goatskin is in my top five. The weight of the leather is right — not so thin it feels fragile, not so thick it kills your feel on the controls. Short wrist is my preference and these do it properly. Made in the USA. Good people, good product.

These get better looking every month

I've had the tan Bad Billys for about four months now and the goatskin has developed this great worn character. The color has deepened slightly in the high-use areas and there's a natural sheen on the palm. These are the kind of gloves that look better the more you ride in them. Short wrist fit is solid.

Goatskin breaks in differently — took a couple rides to feel right

I expected the same feel as my deerskin Legendary gloves but the goatskin is noticeably stiffer at the start. The break-in period on the tan Bad Billy was maybe four or five rides before the leather felt truly supple. Now they're comfortable and the tan color looks great. Good quality, just plan for that initial period.

Tan pairs with almost every jacket I own

I have seven or eight leather jackets — brown horsehide, black cowhide, tan nubuck. The tan Bad Billys work with all of them. Goatskin color is a warm natural tan that coordinates well with older leather. My riding group noticed the gloves before I even mentioned them. Good craftsmanship and made in the USA.

Tough in any weather

Tan goatskin is durable and the grip is great in any weather.

We hear you. The tan look gets us too; glad it's catching eyes.

Tougher feel than deerskin. They

Tougher feel than deerskin. They broke in well after a week.

Thanks for the review. That first-ride stiffness fades fast as the leather works in.

Great everyday gloves for casual riders

I only ride on weekends, mostly short day trips. The tan Bad Billy gives me that classic biker look without going overboard. Goatskin is more rugged than I expected for the price. Comfortable after a short break-in.

Tan goatskin has a heritage look I love

I ride a 1978 Triumph and the tan Bad Billys look right at home with vintage chrome and patina. The goatskin has a tighter grain than deerskin which actually suits the old-school aesthetic — looks rugged and worn in faster. Short wrist fits clean and the quality is solid throughout. Made in the USA which matters to me.

Took a beating, held up

These have taken a beating and held up fine. The leather softened after a few rides, the fit is true to size, and the grip stays solid even when my hands sweat. A dependable glove.

Thanks for the kind words. Appreciate the heads-up on sizing; the hide relaxes a bit as you wear it.

Works in over time

Good sturdy glove. A bit stiff out of the box, but it works in over time.

Thanks for the kind words. Genuine hide starts firm, then softens to your hand within a few rides.

Tight in the fingers

Quality leather but the fit was tight in the fingers for my hand, so not perfect for me.

So glad to hear it. Appreciate the heads-up on sizing; the hide relaxes a bit as you wear it.

Quality style and fit

Bad billy goatskin short wrist gloves are the only gloves I wear, the quality of theses gloves are great and along with their style and fit they can’t be beat (never had a problem with the quality of the gloves color is true and there’s no time needed for breaking in the gloves)you pay a little more for them and they are worth it you can feel the difference between great quality and no quality Try a pair on and feel the difference for yourself QUALITY STYLE AND FIT DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Tough everyday glove

The goatskin feels different from deerskin right away. It is a little firmer and took about a week to really loosen up, but once it did the fit became excellent. I use these as my everyday pair because the leather handles scuffs and general abuse really well. Simple black glove, good grip, clean short wrist, and built to be used.
