More about this glove

The Legendary USA Aramid-Lined Deerskin Glove pairs domestic Whitetail deerskin with an aramid fiber liner — the same cut-resistant material used in industrial safety applications. The aramid layer sits between the deerskin shell and the hand, providing cut and abrasion resistance beyond what deerskin alone offers at the contact surface in a slide.

Deerskin outer shell weighs roughly half of cowhide at equivalent protection and stays pliable in wet conditions without conditioning. The aramid liner does not add significant bulk — the glove retains direct throttle and brake feel. Short wrist cuff. Reinforced stitching at palm, thumb saddle, and fingertip stress points.

Thin liner but I notice the difference

Needed something a step up from my old unlined pair for the highway. The aramid liner is barely noticeable on the hand, and the deerskin still bends easily when I grab the clutch lever. Stitching at the palm and thumb saddle looks beefier than what I had before. Short cuff tucks under my jacket fine.

Light liner for wet commutes

I ride to work year round and wanted a bit more cut protection than plain leather gives. The aramid liner doesn't add much bulk, so I still get a good feel on the throttle and brake. Got rained on twice last week and the deerskin stayed soft once it dried.

Aramid liner without the bulk

I commute about 40 minutes each way and wanted something with more protection than plain leather but not a stiff glove. These are Whitetail deerskin with an aramid liner, and I was surprised how little bulk it adds. I can still feel the brake lever and throttle fine. Got caught in a rain shower last week and the deerskin dried soft instead of stiff. The stitching at the palm and thumb saddle looks reinforced and has held up so far. Short cuff fits under my jacket sleeve without bunching.

Holding Up to Daily Commuting

I commute about 26 miles each way five days a week. My gloves take a beating. The aramid-lined deerskin Legendary makes has held up to that daily use without any sign of failure. The lining hasn't shifted or bunched and the deerskin outer looks worn in but not worn out after four months of commuting.

Can't feel the lining from the inside but you can feel the difference it makes

When I first heard about the aramid liner I expected a thick stiff glove. It's not. The liner is thin enough that the glove feels close to a standard deerskin glove. But when I read about what aramid fiber does to abrasion energy I understood why it's worth having. These are my permanent choice going forward.

Review from a rider who has come off a bike twice

I've gone down twice in 20 years. Both times my hands were the first thing to make contact. After my second spill I decided plain leather wasn't enough anymore. The aramid lining in these Legendary gloves is what serious riders should consider. It's not heavy, it's not stiff after break-in, and it's real protection. These are my safety choice without giving up feel.

Price is fair for what's inside these gloves

At $124 for genuine deerskin with an aramid liner and touchscreen capability made in the USA I'd call this priced right. The aramid is a real material cost difference and Legendary didn't cheap out on the leather to compensate. Good gloves at a reasonable price for what's inside them.

My daily commuter gloves for four months running

I commute about 35 miles each way five days a week. My gloves take a beating. The aramid-lined deerskin Legendary makes has held up to that daily use without any sign of failure. The lining hasn't shifted or bunched and the deerskin outer looks worn in but not worn out after four months of commuting.

The liner adds a bit

The liner adds a bit of confidence. The touchscreen still works through it.

Thank you for riding with us. Happy the phone tips save you from peeling them off at every stop.

Thicker, took a few rides

Well made and the lining is reassuring. They are a bit thicker, so it took a few rides to feel natural.

Love this. That's the everyday quality we aim for.

These are the gloves my wife makes me wear on long trips

My wife does research when I buy riding gear and she's the one who found these. The aramid lining got her comfortable with me doing longer trips on the highway. From my side — they feel like a normal deerskin glove and the protection is invisible until you need it. Touchscreen is convenient. Win all around.

Added peace of mind for canyon riding

I ride twisties in the mountains most weekends. Speeds get real in the canyons and I wanted gloves that could back me up if things went wrong. The aramid liner in these is genuine abrasion protection — same fiber that's in technical motorcycle suits. The deerskin outer keeps me connected to the controls. Short wrist, touchscreen, Made in USA. My canyon gloves from now on.

A safety-minded rider's review

I went down at low speed last year and my hands took some contact with the pavement. My old plain leather gloves held up but I wanted more margin. The aramid lining in these gives me that extra layer of abrasion protection without the bulk of full armor. The deerskin outer is still soft and supple — you don't lose the feel on your controls that makes leather gloves worth wearing. Short wrist, touchscreen capable, Made in USA. This is now my everyday glove.

Aramid liner took a couple rides to settle in

The deerskin outer is soft from the start but the aramid liner adds a slight stiffness that takes a few rides to really feel natural. After about a week of commuting they felt completely broken in. The protection you get from the liner is worth the initial adjustment period.

Protection without the bulk

Like having the extra protection of the lining without losing much feel. The fit was true to size, the grip is good on the bars, and they still work the phone at stops. A nice balance for me. Kim was super helpful thanks for the sizing recommendation.

Thank you for riding with us. Fit can be personal, so reach out and we'll help you find the right size.

Real protection that doesn't feel like armor

The aramid liner on these is a legitimate safety feature. It's not a gimmick — the same material is used in protective vests and cut-resistant workwear. But you wouldn't know it's there from the feel. The deerskin outer is soft and the glove moves naturally. Touchscreen works on my phone.

Aramid lining gave me confidence to upgrade to a faster bike

I recently moved from a 650cc to a liter bike and wanted more protection without sacrificing feel. The deerskin outer gives you real feedback on the controls and the aramid lining adds genuine cut and abrasion resistance underneath. I looked at armored gloves with hard knuckle protectors but they killed my bar feel. These give me real protection in a glove that still lets me feel the road. Touchscreen works and the short wrist fits clean. Glad I found them.

Lining you forget is there

The added lining gives peace of mind and the deerskin outside is still soft and grippy.

Thanks for the kind words. This is exactly the kind of everyday pair we set out to make.

Warm for summer

Good quality but the lining made them warmer and a little bulkier than I wanted for summer.

Thanks for the honest feedback. Warm hands make all the difference in the cold.

why I keep coming back

there's a reason I keep coming back and I cannot tell you how many guys i've told about your gloves. Keep it up guys, your gloves are legendary. Went with the aramid this time and i know just by putting them on out of the box they will be all star mits.

Best Aramid gloves you nailed it

Hey Legendary, quick review great balance of aramid liner, sometimes it’s way too thin or way too bulky and not great for riding. These are the best balance I’ve ever had. Well Done.

Custom pair came out exactly how I wanted

I ordered a custom color combination to match my bike and the finished gloves came out right on target. They took a little longer than a stock pair, which I expected. The deerskin feels the same as the other Legendary gloves I’ve owned and molded to my hands quickly. The custom diamond stitching is the part everyone notices, but they ride just as well as they look.
