This week we’re sitting down with Brittany Amanda — better known as @SheRides2Wheels — a New Jersey rider and content creator we first met at a local Bike Night. She continues to make fun, authentic content built around her love of riding and the broader motorcycle culture. It’s riders like Brittany who keep this scene alive and inspire the next generation living life on two wheels.
What first got you into motorcycles, and what keeps you riding?
I’ve always been someone who loved the adrenaline rush and the sound of bikes rolling by the house or down the road. The big thing that keeps me riding is my brother, who unfortunately passed away from a motorcycle accident. He was the first person who took the time to get me on a bike, and ever since then I’ve been hooked.
What bike do you currently ride? And have you done work on it — what’s the best upgrade you made and why?
I currently ride a 2009 Softail Deluxe. My dream project. I’ve done a lot of cosmetic upgrades to create the vicla style that I absolutely love and am drawn to. New bars, tires/rims, exhaust, and a few other small things to spice it up. My favorite upgrade so far has been the fishtail pipes — I just LOVE the sound of them. Second favorite would be the rims/tires because it changed the entire look of the bike.
Tell us about a memorable ride or road trip — where did you go and what made it unforgettable?
My most memorable trip was a bike trip to North Carolina for an event. It was a multi-day trip, I had an 883 Sporty, and we left in the POURING rain and ended with just under 1,900 miles in 4 days. Every time I tell the story and show pictures of the rain, I love the reaction — even from some of the hardest riders — that “they would never be caught in that hard of rain.” To me, it made the experience all the more fun.
What’s the funniest moment you can remember when you were riding?
That’s a hard one. When I’m out, there are very few times when I’m alone or not having a good time. I’m usually with the crew, and it’s never a dull ride. At some point, someone is shedding a tear from laughing so hard.
What’s one picture or video of you riding that you love the most, and why?
The picture above. While I’ve taken a ton of pictures of my bike, this one always makes me stop and stare. It’s just a picture I took on my phone, but everything in that moment was perfect. It reminds me every time I look at it of where I come from, how hard I worked to get where I am today, and the life I’ve always dreamt of living. None of this would have been possible without the help of my amazing boyfriend, Matt. I’m grateful for him pushing me every day to achieve great things and to stop and live life.
