The cropped length really does make a difference when seated on the bike, nothing bunches up at the bottom. Denim front with the black leather yoke looks good and gets compliments at bike nights. I would have liked the leather to feel a little softer out of the box but it is loosening up with wear.

I reached out to customer service looking for a warm-weather vest with concealed carry and they steered me toward this one. Good call. The 14 oz. black denim twill is heavier than it sounds — it's structured and doesn't flap or sag at speed. The leather trim along the front edges gives it enough body that it sits flat against you. I carry a compact on the left side and the concealed carry pocket is positioned well for that. The brown diamond stitching is a western touch that I wasn't sure about but it grows on you. My riding partner borrowed it for a Saturday run and ordered her own by the following Tuesday.

Was skeptical about mixing materials in a vest but Legacy of Legends pulled it off. The black denim twill body with the leather trim doesn't look like two things fighting each other — it looks intentional. Cropped fit is perfect over a t-shirt.

I've seen denim vests with flashy embroidery that looks cheap after a season. The double diamond stitching on this one is subtle and it's done in a dark rich brown that works against the black denim without screaming. The leather accents on the trim are solid and the covered snaps don't catch on anything when you're putting it on. The rollup collar is a practical detail on warm weather rides — it packs down flat. Cropped three inches shorter than a standard vest which sits right over riding jeans. Unlined so it breathes. I've taken it on two summer weekend runs and it's become my go-to for anything over 75 degrees.
