Construction & Materials
The BECK® 566 in Chestnut Brown is the warm-tone version of the Northeaster foundation horsehide vest — same front quarter horsehide construction and feature set as the black 566, in a brown that reveals the character of riding more visibly. Brown horsehide darkens at crease points and develops a distinctive patina at the vest’s flex zones with regular wear and sun exposure.
Front quarter horsehide from a label that has built riding gear in the USA since 1928. One-piece back panel for clean patch display. Legendary Pistola™ tethered gun pockets, full-size Colt .45 ACP with integrated magazine and phone pouch, sag-proof. 1¼-inch stand-up collar. YKK scratchproof zippers. Twin chest pockets with hidden snaps and integrated sunglass holder. Cropped zipper with hidden snap closure. Perma Core thread by American & Efird (A&E). Nylon Oxford liner. Made in the USA.

How long does the break-in take?
Heavy and stiff for the first few wears — then it gives and molds to you. The density is the point.

Why Riders Choose a Vest
Core protection. Full airflow.
Nothing between you and the ride.
A jacket is for weather. A vest is for every other day — leather over your torso, air on your arms, and a cut that works over a hoodie in October and a t-shirt in July.
Air moves
Full arm and shoulder airflow at 80° — where a jacket gets left home.
Nothing binds
Full reach to the bars — no sleeves, no ride-up, no bunching.
Layers all year
T-shirt in July, flannel in October, under a jacket in January.
Chestnut brown front quarter horsehide
The Material
Dense enough
to stand on its own.
Front quarter horsehide is the densest, most tightly-grained section of the hide — rain-repellent, abrasion-resistant, and built to develop a rich patina with riding.
The chestnut brown shows that patina faster and more visibly than black — every ride leaves its mark.
The Back Panel
The patch canvas.
One-piece back — no center seam to fight when the patch goes on
No center seam
One hide, one panel — nothing to fight when the patch goes on.
Sew-through friendly
Liner construction lets a stitcher work without gutting the vest.

The Workshop
Sewn by hands
that ride.
Every 566 is cut and sewn in an American workshop that has never chased volume. Panels are matched by grain direction and every vest is inspected by the person who built it.
That's why the label carries a signature line, not a batch number.
Double-needle seams, matched by grain direction
Every panel chalk-marked to size on the BECK® bench
The Season
Built for the days a jacket stays home.
The BECK® Vest Line
Four vests. Built for different riders.
