Cockpit USA founder Jeff Clyman spent years rediscovering the long-lost WWII leather finish for the B-3 before reviving it in the late 1980s — restoring what had been missing from every B-3 reproduction since the war. The Cockpit USA B-3 Sheepskin Bomber Jacket is the result of that work: thick supple sheepskin with a nappa-finished exterior, built to the same specification that kept Army Air Force bomber crews warm in unpressurized cabins at 25,000 feet.

The B-3 was designed for extreme cold at altitude, not casual outerwear — and it performs accordingly. As the jacket ages, the natural shearling develops subtle antiqued highs and lows in the wool, mimicking the weathered patina of a genuine WWII veteran jacket. Each piece varies slightly in sheepskin grain and character. Side-entry handwarmer pockets added for contemporary practicality while preserving authentic wartime construction. Made in the USA.
