American Whitetail deerskin weighs roughly half what cowhide does at equivalent protection — meaning the insulated version of this glove still weighs less than a standard cowhide winter glove. The deerskin outer stays pliable in cold without stiffening the way cowhide does, maintaining dexterity at the throttle and brake when it matters most. The 3M Thinsulate 40-gram lining is warm enough for fall and mild winter riding while thin enough that clutch and brake feel aren't sacrificed.

Fall riding sorted for me

I bought these for the stretch when mornings drop into the 30s and I still want to ride. The Thinsulate lining is warm without bulking up my grip, and the deerskin outer is still flexible. I sized up one like the listing says and the fit is right. Keystone thumb feels natural on the bars.

Cold hands stopped being a problem

Switched to these for the chilly stretch of the season and they've done what I needed. The 40 gram Thinsulate takes the edge off on 40 degree mornings and the deerskin outer is still soft enough that I can feel the brake lever. Short elastic cuff slides under my sleeve with no fuss, and I'm glad I went up a size like the listing said.

Warm enough for early morning commutes

I ride to work year round until the snow shows up, and these cover the 40 degree mornings just fine. The Thinsulate lining adds warmth without making the lever feel mushy, and deerskin stays soft in the cold. The elastic short wrist slips under my jacket cuff easily. I did have to snug them up for a few rides since the lining makes them fit tighter than I expected, so I'd order a size up like the listing says. Stitching at the stress points still looks clean after a couple of months.

Warm Without the Bulk

Most cold weather motorcycle gloves are so bulky you lose feel on the controls. The Legendary fleece-lined deerskin is different — the fleece is a thin warm layer inside the same quality deerskin I've come to trust. My hands stayed warm down to about 38 degrees on a morning commute and I could still feel the brake lever and throttle clearly. These are my fall and winter riding gloves permanently.

Christmas gift to myself — no regrets at all

Bought these on a cold December day after my previous winter gloves finally gave out. Same-day decision and very satisfied. The fleece lining is immediately noticeable — warm from the first minute you put them on. Deerskin quality is exactly what you expect from Legendary USA. These will carry me through winter and back.

Dry hands in wet cold weather — better than expected

Rode through a cold drizzle last weekend — temps about 42 degrees. The fleece lining kept my hands warm and the deerskin exterior handled the moisture without soaking through for a good 45 minutes. Eventually moisture found its way in but by then I was at my destination. Better cold-wet performance than I expected.

Bought two pairs — one for me one for my son

My son started riding this year and I wanted to make sure he had proper cold weather gloves before winter. Ordered two pairs of the fleece-lined deerskin. Both of us have been riding in them through November and December mornings. Great warm gloves that actually fit right.

Warm gloves that don't look like ski gear

Most warm motorcycle gloves look like you're heading to a ski resort. The fleece-lined Legendary deerskin looks like a proper motorcycle glove — the warmth is on the inside and the deerskin exterior maintains a classic look. My riding group gives me grief about dressing for the weather. Now they ask where I got the gloves.

My cold morning commuter glove for five months running

I commute 25 miles each way and the mornings from October through March are the test. The fleece-lined deerskin from Legendary has been my daily driver since October and it's handled everything from 38 degrees and sunny to 45 degrees and drizzly. The deerskin sheds light moisture without stiffening up and the fleece keeps your hands at temperature. Short wrist is my preference and these nail it.

Extended my riding season by two months

I used to put the bike away when temps dropped below 50. The fleece-lined deerskins from Legendary pushed that threshold down to around 38 degrees for me. That's two extra months of riding in fall and an earlier start in spring. Good investment in your riding season.

Warmer cold mornings

The fleece liner makes cold mornings a lot more comfortable.

Appreciate you sharing this. Nothing better than warm hands on a cold morning.

Warmer than I expected — great for fall riding

I was worried these might not be warm enough for serious cold but they surprised me. Down to about 40 degrees these work very well. Below that I go to heated gear. The fleece lining is soft against the hand and the deerskin exterior is quality as always from Legendary. The cuff felt slightly stiff for the first couple rides but that's a minor thing.

Fleece lining plus deerskin is a great cold weather combo

I ordered these going into fall knowing my riding season extends into November in the Pacific Northwest. The fleece lining is genuinely warm — not just cozy at room temperature but actual riding-in-40-degrees warm. The deerskin outer handles damp conditions better than most leathers too. Short wrist fits under my jacket cuff perfectly. These were a smart purchase.

Warm enough for my November commute

I work year round and ride whenever I can. November mornings in the mid-Atlantic are cold. These fleece-lined deerskins handle 40-degree morning commutes without complaint. Soft, warm, and well made.

Three-season pick

A good three-season glove for me. The liner cuts the chill on early rides, the grip on the bars stays secure, and they do not feel as stiff as some lined gloves. Comfortable right away.

So glad to hear it. They loosen up quickly, and the fit gets better the more you ride.

Lined, so size up

Warm and comfortable on cool rides. The liner makes them a tighter fit, so I would size up.

Thank you for riding with us. Real leather molds to your hand over time, so the fit tends to improve with miles.

Liner thinner than hoped

The liner is nice but thinner than I expected, so not as warm as I hoped for real cold.

Love this. Warm hands make all the difference in the cold.

review request email

Just picked up a pair last week and I am responding to the reviews email. Let me say they are of the highest quality deerskin. The 3M fleece is exactly what I was looking for in the glove, but I want you to know that it's the exact right weight. If it was heavy weigh it would be annoying in a glove lighter then it wouldnt be as warm. Great job Legendary USA!

Hate the cold love these gloves

The reviews are legit. The fleece lining makes these perfect for those cold weather days that suck. Warm, comfortable, and still flexible on the controls.
