More about this glove

The Legendary Short Wrist Touchscreen glove is the clean version of what American deerskin does for a riding glove — no graphics, no stitching pattern. 100% American Whitetail deerskin, stitched with American & Efird (A&E) industrial-grade thread manufactured in the USA, in a short wrist profile that sits cleanly under or over most jacket sleeves.

American Whitetail deerskin weighs roughly half what cowhide does at equivalent protection — the material choice for a glove you wear every ride. The natural fiber structure stays flexible in cold without stiffening and breathes in heat without stretching. Unlike cowhide, it stays pliable after rain without conditioning. Hand-cut and stitched in the USA.

Touchscreen-capable thumb and index fingertips. Keystone thumb. Elasticized wrist cuff. Unlined for direct feel on the throttle.

Before you ride.

How do I measure my hand?

Tape around the widest part of your dominant hand — knuckles, no thumb. Between sizes? Size up. Exchanges are free.

Does the touchscreen actually work?

Yes — index finger and thumb work phone screens and GPS without pulling the glove off at a stop.

What if they get soaked?

Ride on. Air-dry them at room temperature — deerskin dries soft, not stiff. Never machine-dry.

How long is the break-in?

Deerskin is soft out of the box and molds to your hand within a week or two of riding — it stretches about a quarter size.

Wrong size — how do exchanges work?

Easy exchanges and 30-day returns. No restocking fees.

The Glove

The only gear you feel

Throttle, clutch, brake — everything you do on a motorcycle, you do through your gloves. So we build them like it matters.

One-piece palm — no seams across the grip line

The Palm

Where the glove
earns its keep.

One-piece palm with no seams across the grip line — nothing between your hand and the throttle.

Deerskin's tight fiber structure resists abrasion while staying thin enough to feel the lever. The heel of the palm — first down in a slide, first worn on the grips — is where the leather works hardest.

Questions

Before you ride.

How do I measure my hand?

Tape around the widest part of your dominant hand — knuckles, no thumb. 8–9 inches is a Medium; 9–10 is a Large. Between sizes? Size up — deerskin snugs in to fit.

Does the touchscreen actually work, and does it wear out?

Index finger and thumb work phone screens and GPS without pulling the glove off. The conductivity is in the hide treatment, not a sewn-on patch — nothing to peel.

What happens if they get soaked?

Ride on. Air-dry at room temperature — deerskin dries soft, not stiff, and keeps its shape. Never machine-dry, never dry on a heater.

How long is the break-in?

Deerskin is soft out of the box. Within a week or two of riding it stretches about a quarter size and takes the shape of your grip — which is why you size snug.

Wrong size — how do exchanges work?

Easy exchanges and 30-day returns. No restocking fees.

The BEST gloves ever

These are by far the best gloves I’ve ever owned. Amazing quality.

Simple glove, snug at first

Wanted a clean black deerskin glove without any graphics and this fits the bill. Unlined, so I get good feel at the throttle, and the thumb and index fingertips work on my phone at gas stops. They were a little snug across the knuckles the first couple of rides but loosened up. Short wrist slides under my jacket sleeve with no trouble.

Finally Switched to Deerskin

Long-cuff gloves always bunched up under my jacket and drove me crazy. These short wrist gloves sit perfectly and don't interfere with my sleeve. Grip on the bars is excellent.

Works at the gas stop

Phone and GPS both work at a gas stop without pulling them off.

Love this. Happy the phone tips save you from peeling them off at every stop.

Comfortable from the very first ride

Some gloves need a dozen rides before they stop fighting your hands. These were comfortable immediately. The deerskin is soft and the fit was right for my medium hands. I ride about four days a week and these have become my standard gloves.

Good value for USA-made deerskin

Made in USA, real deerskin, touchscreen compatible. For the price I thought these would have some cutting of corners. Nope. They're well made and they ride well. The short wrist design suits my jacket perfectly.

Bought after reading about deerskin on forums

Did a lot of research before buying my first pair of higher-end gloves. The consensus on deerskin was consistent — softer, more tactile, conforms to your hands better over time. These live up to that reputation. I've now ridden about 3,000 miles in them and they look great. Will buy Legendary again.

Classic look with practical features

The touchscreen compatibility on these is something I didn't think I'd care about until I had it. The short wrist cut keeps things clean looking and the deerskin has a nice natural tan that goes with anything. I've gotten compliments on these from other riders. The feel of real deerskin leather is something you have to experience — nothing else compares. I ride a Dyna and these fit the aesthetic perfectly.

Clean look with no flashy

Clean look with no flashy graphics. The grip holds well on the grips.

Thanks for the honest feedback. A quick wipe now and then keeps the white looking sharp for the long haul.

The leather quality shows immediately

You can tell these aren't made from scraps and leftover hide. The deerskin is consistent across the whole glove and the stitching is tight. I've had cheap gloves where the seams started pulling after a few months. These look the same as when I bought them six months later.

These gloves took my daily commute up a level

I ride a Triumph Street Twin about 25 miles each way to work. I'd been using some department store leather gloves that wore out every season. Switched to these about eight months ago and they're holding up much better. The deerskin molds to your hand a little after the first few rides. Touchscreen is handy for GPS adjustments at red lights. No complaints.

Good everyday riding glove

These are my grab-and-go gloves now. Quick enough to pull on for a short ride to the coffee shop, comfortable enough for a full day on the road. The touchscreen fingertips work fine for checking maps. Only note is the cuff took a little time to break in and flex freely but it's fine now.

Second pair — first ones lasted three years

My first pair of these finally wore through at the palm after about three years of hard use. Ordering the replacement was easy because I knew exactly what I was getting. The new pair feels just as good as I remember. Deerskin stays soft and the short wrist fit is perfect for my riding style. Touchscreen function is a nice convenience. If you want a clean basic deerskin glove without a bunch of armor and padding these are it.

Months in, still holding up

These have been my daily riding gloves for months now. The leather has stayed supple, the stitching is holding up with no loose threads, and the fit is still true to size. Hard to ask for more from a plain glove.

Means a lot, thank you. Fit can be personal, so reach out and we'll help you find the right size.

Short wrist design is exactly what I needed

Long-cuff gloves always bunched up under my jacket and drove me crazy. These short wrist gloves sit perfectly and don't interfere with my sleeve. Grip on the bars is excellent.

Soft right out of the box — deerskin difference is real

I've worn cowhide gloves my whole riding life and finally tried deerskin. These are noticeably softer and more comfortable from the first ride. Touchscreen works on my iPhone without taking them off.

Long fingers at first

I actually won’t wear any other companies gloves. Can’t tell you how many pairs I’ve been through with Legendary. Comfortable and well made. The fingers were a touch long at first before they settled in.

Cheers for the review. That's the everyday quality we aim for.

Thinner than expected

Decent gloves but thinner than I pictured, and the touchscreen only reads about half the time for me.

Thanks for the support. Nice to hear the touchscreen is working out for you.

All I will say is I've had so many gloves from cheap to expensive, Legendary is mid priced but BY FAR THE BEST. I am not even joking the slightest. Will not find better gloves ANYWHERE. Also love that they are American Made. Thank you!

Excellent Quality + Fit

I wear them snug, I don’t like bulk, the pattern just molds perfectly to my hands and really great multi seasonal glove. The touchscreen was a main selling feature. Thanks Legendary USA!

Excellent gloves w/touchscreen

Soft deerskin, perfect fit, and I can still use phone mount while riding, high quality for sure.

What I wear when it is actually cold

Once the temperature gets down around freezing I reach for these instead of regular gloves. The insulation makes a huge difference and keeping the fingers together holds heat much better. You give up a little dexterity compared with fingered gloves, but I got used to that quickly. The deerskin stays flexible in the cold and the palm feels secure on the bars. Warmest non-electric option I’ve used.

Strong Grip with Seamless Road Feel

The touchscreen works better than my actual fingers some days. Literally love the feel of them. I own the Ill Dozers and the Legendary fingerless. Outstanding gloves. Thank you for the fast shipping.

LOVE THEM

They’ve become my go-to gloves — daily rider, year-round. Probably my 5th pair of Legendary gloves. Reviews are accurate. They included their leather conditioner sample. Nice touch!

Perfect fit

I’ve gone through my fair share of riding gloves over the past two decades—some look the part but fall apart after a single season, others claim durability but lack feel. These gloves are in another league. Right out of the package, you can tell they’re American-made: the stitching is meticulous, the leather is thick but supple, and the design shows a real understanding of what riders need. They broke in quickly and molded to my hands like a second skin. I've bought gloves made in Pakistan in the past, and while some looked okay, they never lasted or inspired confidence. These, on the other hand, are built with purpose and pride. I ride daily, and these gloves have held up in sun, rain, and 200-mile days without missing a beat.
