Deer-Touch cowhide is soft to the touch for 3.0 oz leather. The one piece back panel is clean and the Pistola tethered gun pockets hold a full size pistol securely. Fit is true to size in the chest. It's a heavier vest so I'd save it for cooler rides, but the build quality is easy to see. I've owned cheaper vests that didn't come close.

I carry every time I ride and finding a vest that actually works for concealed carry on a motorcycle is harder than it sounds. Most gun pockets on riding vests are an afterthought — floppy, poorly positioned, or sized for a derringer rather than a real sidearm. The Outlaw's Pistola system is different. The pockets are sized for a full-frame pistol and the tether holds them steady whether you're at 30 mph or 75 mph. The magazine pocket sits right next to the main pocket so everything is in one place. On the vest itself — the leather broke in nicely over the first few rides and now has a comfortable drape that still looks sharp. The one-piece back panel has taken my full set of colors without any issues. The sunglass holder on the left chest pocket gets used more than I expected. Two full seasons in and nothing has come loose or worn out.

This is Legendary's flagship and you can feel it. The 3.0 oz Deer-Touch cowhide is noticeably softer and more supple than standard cowhide, but it's got real substance — not soft in a cheap way. The Pistola tethered gun pocket system is the main reason I bought this and it didn't disappoint. My full-size Colt .45 ACP fits without any adjustment, and the tether to the underarm keeps the pocket from drooping even after a full day in the saddle. The integrated magazine pouch and phone pocket are practical touches that I actually use. The 1¼-inch stand-up collar does real work protecting your neck on long stretches of highway. YKK zippers on the hand warmer pockets and hidden snap front make for a clean look with no bulk. One of the more complete vests I've owned.

The tethered Pistola system keeps my full-size 1911 exactly where I put it — no sag, no shift, no adjustment needed mid-ride. Finally a vest that actually carries.
