Picked the v-neck over the oval because I wanted a more open neckline for summer and it was the right call. The perforated cowhide breathes well and the fitted cut looks clean with a t-shirt underneath. I wish the sizing chart had a little more detail but the medium fit me fine.

Love the construction of this vest. The leather is extremely comfortable and soft. I love the fact that the company is out of the US. I also love the fact that they are my family meaning brother at arms.

The V-neck collar immediately caught my eye — it's got a cleaner, more modern look than a standard club collar. Perforations are evenly done and the airflow is real, not just cosmetic. My only note is the pocket closures were pretty stiff when I first got it. Loosened up after a week but something to know going in. Otherwise this vest is everything I wanted.

I went back and forth between the oval and the V-neck for a while. Ended up ordering both and the V-neck is the one I reach for most days. It sits lower on the chest and gives it a slightly more aggressive look. The perforated panels pull double duty — keeps you cooler and the pattern looks intentional, not like a budget shortcut. Concealed carry pockets on both sides, easy to access without fumbling. Cropped cut doesn't ride up, which was my worry going in. Seams are reinforced and the zipper glides smooth. If you run warm like me, either version of the Beatdown perforated is the answer.

The V-neck on this version gives you more room at the throat, which is exactly what I wanted for summer. Perforations do their job on hot days. Leather is solid quality and the cropped cut works perfectly when you're seated on the bike.
