1.3mm front quarter horsehide, aniline drum-dyed and tumbled for a full hour — the broken-in look and hand-feel of years on the road, before the first mile. No artificial surface coatings.

Color — Black
Size — 36
Description

The BECK® 666 Northeaster Flying Togs is the distressed horsehide version of the Northeaster line — 1.3mm front quarter horsehide, aniline drum-dyed and tumbled for 60 minutes to produce a naturally broken-in surface from the factory. The drum-tumbling process works the leather fibers open without artificial surface coatings, producing the aged appearance and hand-feel of a jacket that has been ridden in for years, before the first mile.

Front quarter horsehide at 1.3mm is the densest, most tightly-grained section of the hide — more wind-resistant and abrasion-resistant than cowhide at equivalent thickness. Made by BECK®'s Northeaster Flying Togs label, which has produced horsehide riding gear in the USA since 1928. Stitched with Perma Core thread by American & Efird (A&E). Solid brass YKK zippers. Café racer mandarin collar with snap closure. Two concealed carry pistola pockets, approximately 9 inches deep. 100% cotton buffalo plaid flannel lining. Bi-swing back and vented underarm gussets. Zippered sleeve cuffs with wind flaps. Lifetime Guarantee from Legendary USA.

Note: natural scarring and grain variation are characteristics of authentic horsehide, not defects.

Before you ride.

Is the distressing real?

Yes — the hide is aniline drum-dyed and tumbled for a full hour, which works the fibers open naturally. No paint, no artificial coatings.

Does it still need break-in?

Less than smooth horsehide — the tumbling has done part of the work. It still molds to your build with wear.

How do I care for it?

Sparingly. Dry cloth for dust; a neutral conditioner once or twice a year. Test inside a pocket flap first.

How should I size it?

Order by your actual chest measurement — the chart is in the Size Guide. The cafe cut is close by design.

The Northeaster

Ten years of road.
Zero miles on the clock.

BECK® has made horsehide riding gear in the USA since 1928. The 666 is the distressed Northeaster — the same dense front quarter hide, drum-tumbled for a full hour so it arrives with the character other jackets take a decade to earn.

Distressed aniline horsehide — 1.3mm

The Material

Aged by the drum,
not by paint.

The 666's hide is aniline drum-dyed, then tumbled for sixty minutes. The tumbling works the leather fibers open without artificial surface coatings — the aged appearance and hand-feel are structural, not sprayed on.

Thick without feeling like armor. It sits close and moves with you from the first ride.

Over a Year Old - Recent Pics

My review comes after over a year of ownership and I am writing this because I have fallen in love with the Beck 666 over the last year. The way it has broken in, the look of the distressed horsehide, the patina, the feel I mean I couldn't ask for a better riding jacket. I got mine custom because I am particular about the liner, opted for a removable quilted nylon liner instead of the red buffalo flannel. The pictures I'm attaching are from today. I highly recommend this incredible jacket. Cheers, Andrew

Very tasteful distressing - pictures included

I received my BECK 666 over the weekend. I ordered a 46 which it took about 2 weeks to make (arrive). Very tasteful distressing—nothing fake —nice highs and lows in the grain. The horsehide is definitely mid-weight as described. I rode in it both sat & sun. Molding well to my body, already showing early patina jsut from the natural distressing process I assume. Wind block is excellent, the paneling holds its shape. Stitching is straight and seems legit, and the fit is trim—perfect over a tee or light layer; size up only if you plan on a hoodie. For the price, I honestly don't think you can beat it. Really happy with my purchase and including some not so great pics, but figured a review is useless without a picture. - Eric

Thank you Eric, really appreciate the feedback!

HIGH QUALITY GREAT VALUE!

Received my BECK 666 yesterday size 44, it's beyond anything I could have imagined when ordering it. The reviews were spot on and I am including of a photo I just took. The distressed horsehide is beautiful and I cannot wait to ride in this. Impressed!

Looking good Billy Ray! (Patrick)

I absolutely love this jacket.

I absolutely love this jacket. The quality the fit, it's all perfect. I searched for a good USA leather company an I believe I've really found a good one. Customer support couldn't be better. I really love everything about this company. I highly recommend Ledgendary USA products.

Distressed look straight out of the box

I wanted a jacket that already looked ridden in and the 666 does that without any fake coating. The tumbled horsehide has a real worn-in feel and the cafe racer mandarin collar snaps down neatly. It is a shorter cut so nothing bunches on the tank. Took a couple of rides for the shoulders to relax but the bi swing back gives me plenty of room to reach the bars. Sized to the chart and it fits right.

reviews are accurate

Kimberly helped me settle on a size for the cafe racer and it showed up fitting exactly right. The distressed horsehide already looks broken in.

We’re thrilled Kimberly was able to help. Finding the right fit is especially important with a horsehide cafe racer jacket, and we’re happy to hear the sizing and distressed finish exceeded expectations.

The leather smell alone sold me

The distressed finish on this cafe racer looks like it has ten years of road on it, in the best way.

Thank you for the great review. One of the goals behind our distressed horsehide cafe racer was creating a jacket that looked like it had already earned years of stories while still offering decades of wear ahead.

Won't ride without it

Close, clean cafe cut, and the leather is thick without feeling like armor. It sits tight to the body without binding when I lean into the bars.

We appreciate the detailed feedback. A proper cafe racer motorcycle jacket should feel close and athletic without restricting movement, and we’re glad the fit worked so well for you on the bike.

nailed the sizing ty!

I wasn't sure between two sizes and their sizing help sorted it on the first attempt, no return needed. It fits like it was measured for me.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Accurate sizing advice saves riders time and hassle, and we’re happy we could help you find the perfect fit on the first try.

stunning patina out of the box

The horsehide wears a worn patina from the start, and it keeps deepening every month.

That’s one of our favorite things about horsehide. The distressed finish provides immediate character, but the leather continues developing its own unique patina through years of wear.

Sized perfectly the first time

A proper cafe racer, minimal and tough, and the zippers pull smooth. Nothing on it feels like an afterthought.

Thank you! We put a tremendous amount of attention into every detail, from the zipper selection to the pattern design. We’re glad the quality came through.

Worth every penny

It's a heavy piece of horsehide, no question, but that weight is exactly what makes it feel worth the money.

We couldn’t agree more. Heavyweight horsehide isn’t for everyone, but for riders who appreciate premium leather motorcycle jackets, that substantial feel is part of what makes them special.

Can't Beat Quality vs Price INCREDIBLE

Let me clear something up. I am involved in a lot of leather jacket message boards and all of the clows out there that think Schott is a "THING" you guys are suckers :-) Why pay up 2 x the $ when you can get even better quality from BECK? Anyway, just saying totally impressed and happy with my BECK 666

I sound stupid because I never write reviews

Absolutely love my new BECK 666 prbly the best jacket I’ve owned. The horsehide is not crazy thick and heavy, exactly what I wanted, and it’s already starting to break in nicely after a few rides. The fit is true to size and sits just right on the bike. the stitching is clean. Really happy given the greaat price point. The only other thing I got from Legendary was a vest about 9 years ago and to this day still wear it!

review, confirmed 5 stars

I am writing a review because this is probably the first horsehide jacket I ever owned that was actually horsehide. I say that because there are so many fakes out there and finally this one is legit. The fit is perfect and true to their size chart. I highly recommend this jacket like most people have said you can't get horsehide jackets for this price especially made in USA.

Best cut I ever owned. the beck 666 is exceptional

ok so everything from the horsehide to the hardware to the lining, this is legit my favorite piece of leather ever. Was following this cut for a year and finally pulled the trigger. Sized on an exchange from 46 to 48 needed a little more room for a hoodie. highly recommend for the price, you would pay 2. 5 X the price and get some slim fitting rag. BECK nailed this
