More about this glove

The Churchill Classic is the original American deerskin riding glove — made by the Churchill family in the USA using the same construction method and domestic Whitetail deerskin since 1897. That's over 127 years of continuous deerskin glove production from a single American maker, making it one of the longest-running riding gloves in American manufacturing history.

The 2-inch elasticized wrist cuff is the defining detail of the Classic profile — it sits higher on the wrist than a short wrist glove, providing more coverage at the sleeve gap on highway rides while remaining flexible enough for full throttle and brake range. Domestic Whitetail deerskin weighs roughly half of cowhide at equivalent protection, delivers natural thermal performance across temperature ranges, and stays pliable in wet conditions without conditioning. The hide softens and molds to your grip over the first few rides — a process that improves, not diminishes, with miles.

These gloves are the best!

I stumbled across my first pair of these gloves around 2009 and they quickly became my favorite pair of riding gloves. I just brought my second pair at the end of 2025. These gloves are incredibly durable and long lasting. I never properly cared for them or did anything to preserve them. They just lasted and lasted. I never even got a hole in them. I'm so glad I didn't cut the tags out of them so I could buy a new pair!

Churchill family quality shows

These aren't made by some factory cranking out ten thousand units. You can tell someone who knows gloves actually designed these. The reinforced stitching at the stress points is clean and tight. The hide feels and smells like real American deerskin, not like something that was processed to death.

Understated and durable

Nothing flashy about these, which is why I like them. Classic black deerskin, simple elasticized cuff, unlined so you get real feel through the controls. They look like working gloves because they are. Six months in and they're holding up with zero issues.

Bought these for a cross-country run

Planning a two-week trip from Ohio to the Pacific Coast and wanted gloves that could handle daily use without getting destroyed. Did a 300-mile shakedown ride and these were comfortable from about mile 50 onward. The grip on the bars is natural — no weird bunching at the palm. The unlined construction means your hands breathe, which matters on long days in the saddle. I'll report back after the trip but so far I'm confident I picked the right gloves.

Third pair of Churchills for me

I don't write reviews usually but these are my third pair of Churchill Classics over the years so I figured I'd say something. The construction is consistent — every pair I've bought has felt the same, broken in the same way, and lasted. My last pair went about four years of regular riding before I retired them. They don't look flashy but they don't need to.

Good gloves, snug at first

Leather quality is solid and the stitching looks clean. They were snug out of the box — took about a week of regular use before they loosened up enough to feel really comfortable. Once broken in though, they're great for highway miles.

These Churchills just work

Bought these about three months ago and they've been on every ride since. The 2-inch cuff tucks under my jacket sleeve perfectly and I don't get that wind gap I had with my old short wrist gloves. Good stuff.

Rode through light rain, came out fine

Got caught in a drizzle on the way home and was bracing for the leather to stiffen up. It didn't. Pulled them off and they were still soft and pliable. That alone sold me on deerskin. Not waterproof, but they handle moisture way better than I expected.

Classic and secure

Classic styling with soft deerskin and a secure grip.

Love this. Exactly what we hope for from a daily pair.

My Harley riding group all owns these now

I showed up to a group ride with these Churchills and three guys asked about them. By the next month, four of us in the group had ordered pairs. One guy has been riding 35 years and said they're the best deerskin gloves he's owned. Says a lot when a veteran rider makes that call.

Deerskin breaks in different than cowhide

I've been riding for 22 years and always bought cheap cowhide gloves. My riding buddy kept telling me to try deerskin so I finally ordered these Churchill Classics. First thing I noticed is how light they are — my old gloves felt like oven mitts by comparison. After about four or five rides the hide shaped itself to my hands and now they feel like I've been wearing them for years. The 2-inch cuff gives better wrist coverage than my previous gloves. Churchill's been making these things since before my grandfather was born, and you can feel that experience in the construction.

The cuff length is the right call for highway riders

I specifically wanted a classic-length cuff because I do a lot of interstate riding and there's always a gap between my jacket sleeve and a short wrist glove. The 2-inch elasticized cuff on these closes that gap completely. No more cold air sneaking up my wrist at 75 mph. The deerskin is genuinely lighter than anything else I've tried — I forget I'm wearing gloves half the time.

Comfortable from the first ride.

Comfortable from the first ride. The classic look never gets old.

Thanks for the honest feedback. That colorway is one we're proud of — enjoy the ride.

Leather that stands out

The leather quality really stands out. The fit was true to size, they broke in quickly, and the stitching is neat throughout. A glove I keep reaching for.

Right on. Fit can be personal, so reach out and we'll help you find the right size.

Quality I'll reach for

These have a clean classic look and the leather quality is excellent. The fit was true to size, they broke in quickly, and the stitching is neat throughout. A glove I will keep reaching for.

Cheers for the review. Good note on fit, and our team is always around to help you dial it in.

Loosened after a few rides

Well made classic glove. It was just slightly snug at first before loosening up.

Thanks for the support. The deerskin softens and gives a little with wear, and we're glad to help you nail the size anytime.

Great feeling pair of gloves great fit...the only negative I can come up with is the way the manufacturer attaches them together with the label by putting a staple through the cuff. For someone not paying attention one could rip them...I pay attention.... I know..kind of picky but.

give these a hand...

These gloves are terrific! Thick enough to be substantial, thin enough to allow dexterity. Got these for 3 season use on my Harley. These far exceeded my expectations. Wore them on a 25 mile ride at 48 degrees, 70 mph. Finally, gloves that are worth the price. Sizes are right on.
