Wasn't expecting quite this much weight when I unboxed the 588 but once I strapped it on I understood why. That front quarter horsehide is thick.
The 588 is a heavier vest than I expected, and the grain on the hide is something to look at.
Bought the 588 back in November and I've put about 4,000 miles on it since. First couple weeks the leather was stiff — that's real horsehide.
