Before you ride.

How long does horsehide take to break in?

Two to four weeks of regular wear. It starts stiff — that density is the point — then molds to your build and riding position.

Will the chestnut color change?

Yes — that's the point of brown horsehide. Crease lines lighten, shoulders deepen, and the jacket records the miles you put on it.

How do I care for it?

Sparingly. Dry cloth for dust; a neutral conditioner once or twice a year. Test inside a pocket flap first.

Can the fit be adjusted?

Within a size, yes — side buckle tabs dial the chest and waist. Between sizes with a mid-layer? Take the larger.

The Northeaster

Ninety-eight years of horsehide.
This one shows its miles.

BECK® has made horsehide riding gear in the USA since 1928. The 777 in Chestnut Brown carries the same refined construction as the black flagship — in a hide that develops more visible character with every ride.

Front quarter horsehide — 1.3mm

The Material

Chestnut horsehide.
It records the ride.

Front quarter horsehide is the densest cut of the hide — wind-tight and abrasion-resistant. In chestnut brown, it shows its history: crease lines at the elbows lighten, shoulders deepen with sun and wear.

No two hides match. No two jackets age alike.

Construction

Overbuilt, on purpose.

Antique brass hardware

Solid brass, aged finish. It patinas with the hide instead of wearing against it.

YKK® zippers

Main and cuff zips run on YKK — the quiet standard for hardware that never fails.

Bi-swing back

A pleated action back that lets you reach the bars without the jacket riding up.

Vented gussets

Underarm gussets move air on hot days and give the shoulders full rotation.

Pistola pockets

Two concealed-carry pockets, nine inches deep, seamed into the chest panels.

Side buckle tabs

Dial the chest and waist to your build — and to your layers.

“Cut, stitched, and finished in America — the way it has been done since 1928.”

The Workshop

Sewn by hands
that ride.

Every 777 is cut and sewn in an American workshop that has never chased volume. Panels are matched by grain direction, seams are double-needled, and every jacket is inspected by the person who built it.

That's why the label carries a signature line, not a batch number.

Fit

Cut for the ride,
not the rack.

Room through the shoulders, trim at the waist, sleeves cut for a forward reach. Off the bike it reads tailored; on the bike, nothing binds.
