Heavier and more textured than cowhide, as the description says. The copper tan color is beautiful and no chest pockets keeps the lines clean. Stiff right now but I expect it to improve. It feels like a vest you keep for years.

I've ridden in cowhide for twenty years and I picked up the bison Lowlife on a recommendation from a friend in Colorado. First thing I noticed was the texture — bison grain is coarser and more pronounced than cowhide, and the cashew tan color has a warmth that plain black leather doesn't. The NCP front is clean and the cropped fit is snug without being tight. This is genuinely a different experience from a standard cowhide vest.

The bison leather is noticeably stiffer out of the box than cowhide — it needs a few rides to really open up. Once it does the vest drapes and moves much better. The cashew tan color is exactly as pictured and the NCP front looks sharp. Good vest if you want something different from the standard black leather crowd.

I wanted something that stood out from the sea of black cowhide vests at every event I go to, but I didn't want to go full exotic skin. American bison was the answer. The grain on this hide is distinctive — bigger pores, more texture variation, and a natural toughness that you can feel when you work the material in your hands. The cashew tan color is warm and earthy and it's going to age into something really special. Legendary did the right thing keeping the front clean with no center pocket — it lets the bison hide be the story. Fit is true to size and the 3-inch crop sits right. I've had it through two months of riding including one overnight trip where it got soaked in a rain shower and dried back to shape with no warping. For the price difference over standard cowhide, the bison is absolutely the choice if you want something exceptional.

I’ve tried a few cropped vests but this one nailed the fit. Bison hides are tough, but this vest feels broken in out of the gate. Love the natural grain too.

You can tell this is premium bison leather the moment you open the box. Has a little more weight to it than standard leather, but feels great on the ride.

first time bison vest owner normally stick with cowhide or canvas. The bison is heavy weight and very smooth hard to explain, got it because of the water repelling of the bison. it tends to rain a lot where I live in Puerto Rico so this makes sense this cut. Told all my boys about Legendary first time buyer definitely not the last.

I’ve worn this vest in rain, sun, and wind and it holds up to all of it. Wouldn’t mind a second interior pocket, but what’s here is excellent.
